FREE YOURSELF

FREE YOURSELF

“If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36)

It is so overwhelming the manner most believers go about with a deep hole of guilt in their hearts. They feel depressed with themselves and hoard the past as if they need it more than air. Guilt is a terrible thing and should not be seen around the shores of a child of God.

When a believer sin against God and recognizes that he/she had sinned, ask for forgiveness and consequently turn away from the said sin, Christ immediately forgives. The bible says in 1 John 1:9 “if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. That means that when you err, and seeks God’s forgiveness, He forgives you.

You see, satan has a cunning way of depriving believers from the freedom and joy of the Lord. He deceives you into believing that you have committed a heinous crime and can never be forgiven. He flashes that incident through your mind over and over again causing your heart to skip at the remembrance of that sin. That‘s a big lie! The word of God tells us in 1 John 3: 20 “for if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and knoweth all things.” Can you beat that? If Christ has set you free from the claws of sins then who is your heart to condemn and hold you bound.

Similarly, a sense of guilt which evolves an individual can lead to depression which is detrimental to one’s health. Guilt can never allow you to think straight rather It entangles you, weighs you down and keep turning you round in circles.

I am inspired to tell you this day that Jesus has forgiven and set you free, there is no need to wallow in self pity and guilt anymore. Arise, and never blame yourself again. In addition to that, each time the devil takes a walk through your heart, simply quote John 8:36 to him. Do not forget to renew your mind daily with the word of God and confess it as many times as possible.
