Look and Live

Isaiah 45:22 “Look unto me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else”

When we talk about looking unto Jesus, we mean leaning on Him, trusting in Him, depending upon Him 

and casting our cares and concerns upon Him and be saved as no one else can ever be more caring, depending, faithful, kind and trustworthy like of our God. There is always a person or group of persons that we look unto every day for one thing or the other. Children depend on their parents for a source of livelihood, citizens depend on the government for provision of welfare and other social amenities, protégées depends on their patrons for provisions, students look up to their lecturers for newknowledge and Christians on a wider level, look up to Jesus for everything.

Looking unto Jesus is the best thing any individual can ever do in times of need. You see, most times situation arises that comes through temptations in our individual lives which stresses the need to solely look and depend on God and be saved as we read in our study text above.

All men, young and old, rich and poor, privileged and less privileged experiences trials and temptations. It comes through different ways to different people to weaken their minds towards the journey to heaven. Temptation is not a sin but when it overcomes the believer, it becomes a sin to the person. Here temptation is used to represent all forms of challenges people can encounter, be it temptation to sin or temptation during difficult times.

The scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such is common to man; but God is faithful. Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” Presently, as a result of end time, unimaginable things are happening, the wind of evil is seriously blowing but the only surest place to take refuge is in Jesus.  You need to come closer to God like never before, increase your prayer life if you must be an overcomer. God is assuring you that when you look unto Him you shall be saved. So what are you waiting for? Take those needs and challenges to Him and see the way He will turn those temptations into testimonies.
